Arnold Palmer Hospital - AHU-2 Replacement
AHU-2 is a 7,000 cfm air handling unit that was built in the 1990's. The air handler was at the end of its useful life and needed to be replaced.

The challenges were how to get a new unit up into the penthouse and minimize downtime.
Klimak Custom Air Handling units, made in Italy, was the perfect choice. With full flexibility to manufacture an air handling unit that could fit in the elevator and be installed in modular sections, with Qpac ECM fanwall, the project was a success.
The existing unit was shut down on Friday night, demolished into pieces, and the Klimak unit was installed and up and running by Sunday afternoon.
The existing unit had very little access to the coils and fans and the final filters were installed in the supply duct. Without taking up too much extra room, we provided our Klimak unit with plenty of access to prefilters, coils, fans and final filters were incorporated into the air handling unit enhancing the overall performance.
